Creativity and the digital world belong together

Dear readers,

Steve Jobs, Apple founder and one of the IT industry’s most inspiring figures, died in November of  this year. With extraordinary inventiveness and distinct aesthetic sensitivity,
he created products that have changed our lives and will continue to set the standard for innovation for a long time. He had an incredible talent to fuse creativity and technology, and clever ideas with a well thought-out design. It is this combination that will drive the IT industry forward.

IT innovations are not merely technological inventions. New functions and applications can come to the fore as a result of new types of computers, processors, databases and software. But imagination, emotional intelligence and a profound understanding of processes are critical for recognising the technological potential.

GFT is an innovation house, though less in the meaning of an invention factory that researches new technologies. A tangible device has never been built by our firm. But the term “innovation house” still hits the nail on the head. Among the numerous digital hard- and software products that hit the market, we look for those technologies that inspire us to develop new, innovative applications. Our customers want to transform modern technologies fast and easily into new mobile and smart experiences for their end-users. The transformation of the services we’ve witnessed until today into the digital world is still in its infancy. GFT is the scout who is paving the way into the world of mobile experience for its customers.

Today, consumer IT still provides a strong impetus for business applications. That is why analysts talk about the consumerisation of business IT. GFT is responding to this development by creating an international Applied Technologies Team, which is transforming exciting new application scenarios into actual apps – thus showing what terrific opportunities new mobile technologies can offer companies. We have already been using GFT AppStore successfully as an internal platform to exchange ideas and develop prototypes. Through these prototypes, our customers can picture for themselves new mobile solutions very realistically. The mobile publishing solution for publishing houses, developed by Deutsche Post, also proves the innovative nature of our firm. A team of experts in Brazil brings together the technological know-how for Google Web Toolkit in order to make internet applications 2.0-able. Our objective is to transform IT concepts into mobile, smart applications. In this way we are creating secure and intelligent connections between the digital infrastructure which exists in today’s companies and our customers’ wishes, requirements and dreams.

Steve Jobs left the IT industry a huge legacy. He demonstrated that the best results can be achieved at the intersection of technology and creativity. For this, curiosity, intelligence, intuition and passion are indispensable. Living this spirit is the real challenge in our digital world.

Yours
