As the pandemic swept in, there was a sudden and acute need to enable remote healthcare services when in-person appointments weren’t possible. Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, between 24% and 42% of Canadian healthcare services have been delivered virtually, depending on the province.

While only 4 per cent of physician-delivered mental health services were virtual in 2019, that grew significantly to 57 per cent in 2020-2021.

Although Canadians continue to trust insurers with their data, our GFT Digital Insurance Survey shows that only 48% of them are willing to share information to save money, and only 42% would do so for better access to services.
