Challenge
Maintain a tradition of innovation
From its inception, Galgo revolutionised the exchange and reconciliation of information within the Brazilian investment market. By streamlining and standardising data, the platform boosts operational efficiency, reduces risk and facilitates orderly market growth.
But with growing data volumes, Galgo needed to review its technology stack and development methods to boost efficiency and innovation. The aim was to move away from traditional „waterfall“ methods and legacy technology towards a modern Agile approach based on cloud.
As a mission-critical provider, Galgo also wished to maintain its reputation as an innovator by expanding its product portfolio and delivering customer value faster.

Collaborate to innovate
Galgo realised that it needed a partner to accelerate progress and bring fresh thinking to the project. With a track record of digital transformation, GFT had an agile DNA, a culture of innovation and the right practical skills to deliver success. After careful consideration, Galgo chose GFT as its primary technical partner.
GFT proposed a two-part transformation:
- A cultural shift that involved fresh thinking, new methods and modern technologies to deliver a new approach that could streamline communications that included email, telephone and messaging and provide total transparency. To accelerate progress, GFT ran a series of workshops on Agile methods to transfer knowledge and show the benefits of the new approach.
- A discovery programme to gain a deep understanding of the strategic business challenges and current pain points. Then to propose solutions and test concepts with Galgo clients, including banks and fund administrators.
From the outset, the GFT approach was rooted in practical reality. All new ideas were continuously evaluated, refined and tested in the market to maximise benefits in the shortest possible time.
GFT examined information flows to understand how market participants communicated. This revealed that players communicated in a variety of ways, including email, phone, WhatsApp and text. This lack of standardisation increased the workload, increased potential risk and limited Galgo’s ability to scale its business.
Using an Agile approach and Microsoft Azure, GFT developed a minimum viable product (MVP) that streamlined and simplified information flows and included intelligent verification of data. ‘Border Pro’ is a cloud-native solution that’s easily scaled and benefits from cloud „elasticity“ during peak reporting periods.
To drive adoption, Galgo offers regular client training and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
