Group Executive Board
On January 1st 2020 he was appointed to the Group Executive Board. Marco Santos is CEO Americas, responsible for the North and South America region. He has a deep knowledge of the cloud transformation journey, the new digital economy, general management, delivery and customer experience, while his track record expands across multiple sectors, including financial services and manufacturing.
Marco Santos assumed the position as GFT’s Co-CEO in July 2024. Marika and Marco will jointly drive GFT's strategy forward until Marika's contract expires on 31 December 2024. Marcos Santos was elected to the Administrative Board at the Annual General Meeting on 20 June 2024.
26 years in the Information Technology Industry
With a more than 28 years in the technology sector, since joining GFT in 2011, Marco has helped transform clients’ digital visions into tangible realities - and in the process expand the company's operations within North and South America. In his previous role as GFT’s CEO Brazil, for example, Marco was responsible for breaking into that market and growing its team substantially. Later he took on the role as CEO U.S. and Latin America.
Prior to joining GFT, Marco held executive positions at multinational and national companies such as TATA Consultancy Services, Oracle, CPM Capgemini and Organic Inc.
Passion to inspire others
Marco is passionate about encouraging others to keep up with all the innovations exponential technologies offer and regularly delivers lectures.
He is also a founding member of non-profit organization Meu Futuro Digital in Brazil, to accelerate the inclusion of disadvantaged people in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Education
Marco has an undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), an MBA in International Relations from FIA-USP (Brazil) and in International Business by University of Illinois (USA). He also has a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in the impact of artificial intelligence on business strategies.
